Ohio Fountain
Traveling back to Western New York, from Cleveland Ohio I passed a large Fountain being towed by a Ford driven by a hot looking blonde. This was sometime around 5:00pm near the Pennsylvania border. The Fountain's name was Life's Good, white with black graphics. Anyone here own it?

Wow...Nobody knows this Fountain? It was a sharp looking boat. Ohio plates on the trailer and as I said...a hot looking blonde driving the Ford that was towing it.

Nope... unfortunatly!
|
Forgot that my wife got a pic when we passed it. Looking at it I see I was wrong about the tow vehicle. It is not a Ford it is a GMC.

Padraig https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...c3f871f317.jpg Where did you see this? Have had mine forever and only seen one more like it. Was a 38 staggered boat that went to Canada years ago. |
CRINGE!!! Why aren't those drives trimmed up for trailering!! Skeg damage in 5, 4, 3, 2........
|
Ragged Edge, I first saw her pulling out of a gas station at the Ohio/Pennsylvania border. She continued east on route 90. After I filled up I too went east and saw her again about 15 miles west of Erie. Both boat and trailer had Ohio plates as did the GMC.

we don't trim ours during travel. Never had an issue. Our boat sits so high up off the ground My thoughts, why risk it? |

We tow our PQ 280 with a 1/2T Avalanche. Best I can figure, boat and trailer weigh around 7K#. With the exception of the fact that it was built with the tallest axle ratio Chevy offered (that wasn't supposed to be available for 4WD), it does fine. Ride leveling airbags keep it level, it controls the load well, and stops it fine. The only complaint I have with it is that axle ratio. It struggles with the hills around Cumberland, but, otherwise, it works.

This is way off topic here, but the title caught my eye...Where is the original OHIO FOUNTAIN?????I believe it was an all Red 42 with white interior, race boat turned pleasure boat. My favorite old school Fountain.

OHIO STEEL boat?

the ones on the Fountain do look Horizontal to me, the ones on my Formula certainly followed the angle of the V https://cimg1.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...57d80b4622.jpg |
no illusion your eye's are correct
|
Tabs
Early 2000's Fountain switch to mounting the tabs parallel to the water line for better leverage.

I Just saw a boat here in Fort Myers that I was told is the original Ohio Steel boat. It's an all aluminum riveted boat. I personally would have no idea but that's what I was told.
