Lake Mead is dropping quick.....
 

I saw it 25 years ago and it had a white "high tide" mark on the rocks indicating water level was 10-12 ft below the high line. Now its hundreds of feet below that

Guy says in the video 4 hours in line to launch your boat (only if 24 ft or smaller, no deep vee bottoms due to shallow water). They have signs marking the water levels over the years and its dropping quickly:

Wow, just watched the whole video. That IS INSANE. They got big problems !!!!

Water is #1 concern but then hydro electricity is a huge problem right behind it. No water + no flow = no electricity in a place that really likes bright lights!

...and trying to supply a state that grows things like almonds that use 100 gallons of water per almond or something like that...crazy.

I went to Vegas in the late 90's for work and the guys wanted to tour the dam. We then went to the marina for lunch. About 5 years ago I went there with my wife and was shocked how low it was then. Are they even able the move the larger boats out?

No house boats can be pulled at this moment. **** will hit the fan here March next year, 950elevtion is dead pool. And we are at close to 1050 now.

Can't live in a desert and use water to wash cars, water the lawn and other non-survival things if it doesn't rain frequently. Read an article 20 years ago that said this would happen. People were moving to the dry climates for better health away from the pollen, mold, allergies etc. Then planted grass, trees and shrubs, watered the hell out of them and created the pollen, mold and allergies and a soon to be dry lake. Duh! Soon they will start pumping water from more inland lakes and create the problem all over again. They are already pumping water from the ocean to de-salinization plant's but cannot do it fast enough. Then the salt is dumped back in the ocean and causing the sea life to go wacko and die.

What I don't get is there are a lot of my co-workers who have recently retired or are about to retire that are still wanting to relocate out that way. :picard1:
