anyway know if they’re still around? Most buyers have the fantasy but much like the older/smaller Concepts they are missing all the extras that other boats offer as standard today. No step bottom, narrow beam, not much shade etc. |

Wonder how it would run with 300R's?

True, Most people who buy an Ocean Hawk buy them because (1) proven design and (2) the layout works for what the buyer wants... its a Cig CC that checks a lot of boxes for owner requirements/expectation and not expected to run 80+ like a newer step bottom... so they have a following (and a resale demand)
I love the simplicity and the size/twins. 50+ ft center consoles for millions of dollars seem to have gotten too big, too thirsty etc. |
Center Console boats were designed as work/utility/fishing boats that provided deck space for the applicable job and were a fun boat to own/operate with significantly less upkeep than what they've evolved into.

I've always been a big fan of the "sport" center consoles like the Cafe Opens, Ocean Hawks, Concepts and the handful of ones the likes of Powerplay, AT, OL built. Less bling, more usable but still built for a little speed and to carry multiple people and not really built to fish but you could if you wanted too. Basically what was the foundation of where we are now with the huge performance CC craze.

Were they a Cig design ? sure looks like it

I do believe they are actually cig molds based off of the cafe / mistress hull (like every other vee bottom of the day) and licensed and eventually sold (or just lost along the way) to Ocean hawk. You can see the similarity to the 28SS open.

There's a 33 Powerplay CC for sale right now with 525s. The perfect boat.

It's on FB in the powerplay owners group. They built a handful of factory I/O 33 CCs. This had to be one of the last ones. If you aren't into outboards (some of us still aren't) its the perfect boat. Should run low to mid 80s.

Powerplay built a couple. Cool boats. Outerlimits. Apache, a few companies built em I/o CC’s. They pop up from time to time.
im not looking to to buy. Looking for some set up advice but I reached out to Craig Barrie. He knows best. ;) Considering he built them….twice. |
Fountain did a small run of 32' walkaround with cabin center consoles with I/O's

That boat was listed with a broker for months in Stuart FL....... I think it was listed at the same price. 33 Powerplay is an epic boat but I'd rather have the OB version in that configuration and save the I/O stuff for the go fast version. |

Its not the speed but rather lack of amenities that so many boats offer today......wider beam, ability to have triples, multiple seating areas, 44 LED cupholders with 22 speakers and a cabin with a/c!
