LOTO Shootout Roll Call
Post up if you are going. It is one of my favorite events of the year, and this year will be my first time doing the poker run.
I have always done the same routine for years...PBC Thursday, Ron's Friday, Camden Sat night... and then I park in the chaos and watch both days. What are your favorite spots. It looks like there is an increase in attendance for guys actually running the shootout as well, which is exciting. |

Assuming my truck doesnt overheat this next time I tow with it ill be there with my 29 fountain. I will be participating in the event as well. We stay at a house on captain rons property so we are typically there. We go down Tuesday and hit the HOF dinner, Strip Wed night, Thursday we get the boats in the water and docked. Then we just do whatever we want until race day. |
Cant wait. We will be docked at Super Cat Fest and go with the flow!!
|
I'll be there:D

Camden Mon-Mon. As much boating as we can possibly do. Street party Wed, PBC Thursday and Camden every night late. Boat either on the SC docks at Camden, or in our covered slip at Camden depending on heat/rain.

We will be there Wed-Street party, Thur-PBC, Fri-Coconuts?, Sat-Nor-Tech fun run. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

I think I've only missed one year since 2002. Always do Wed street party, Thur PBC, Fri Ron's/RH/BWJ. Since they introduced the expanded no wake I no longer go out to the course on Sat. One year of riding back thru that was enough for me. Plus I've been there, done that, got the tee shirt. Usually just hang out poolside at Redhead on Sat. Might try to get over to Camden this year for Super Cat.

We will get there Tuesday afternoon, strip wed night, PBC Thursday, Supercat Friday, Probably watch the shootout from Camden Saturday.

I get out there before they enforce the no wake and stay til after it’s done. You have to be there by 8 to get a decent spot anyway, then we idle to Fish and Co…eat and listen to music. By the time dinner is over the no wake is gone.
|
I’m on my crew at 7 and they don’t all like it lol. That morning run up there at sunrise is great jumping all the cruiser wakes.

I was thinking about running Speedy till I talked to my Ins agent...........:argue:

That is one of the reasons more boats don't run. Most insurance won't cover you in any organized competition.
We will be there for the street party on Wed, but need to cut it short and be back home Sat morning. The street party and visiting the docks at Camden and PBC are definite highlights.. |

That, and down the road after an incident, they can say, "hey Mr XXXX, that boat that you had insured for up to 99 miles an hour did 122 miles an hour in the Shootout 3 years ago, so we are going to take a pass on covering your totaled boat due to fraud. Congratulations, though, as you won your class!"

What about getting a policy through Wagner just for the event? Is that possible? Event Insurance is usually a one time shot anyway, right?

Looks like a lot of boats showing up to run. Gonna be nice to see some cool boats and not just pontoons.

Watching the one with three 300s on the back going well over 100....I can watch that. Watching a showroom stock boat with a 400R doing 68 run 37 passes over and over isn't entertaining. Its impressive, just who cares.

Leaving tomorrow morning for 8 days
|
Still an hour idle?
|
My wife and I would love to make the trip next year. No boat, just want to hit the hot spots and spectate from the shore. Any suggestions on areas to stay? Will be our first time at LOTO.

https://cruiselakeoftheozarks.com/ There are a lot of other events going on and most of those events and "hot spots" are on the Osage Beach/Lake Ozark side of the lake. Anywhere in Osage Beach, Lake Ozark or Four Seasons area would be the best to stay. |

The actual Shootout is hard to see from anywhere on land. You could go on the Celebration Cruise boat and have a front row seat.

Buddy and I are taking our cruisers (Monterey 335SY and Fountain 38EC). We have a house over by Shady Gators. Should get there around noon on Wednesday.
