Busted axle——vin decoder for the trailer

I have a double axle trailer. The bearing buddy Somehow came off and I smoked all the bearings inside. It ruined the spindle. I need a new axle. I have the Vin for the trailer so I can figure out if it takes 3500 or 4500 pound axles. I can’t seem to find a good Vin decoder online. It is from 1992. The axles are not stamped in any way that I can see to figure out what the axle actually is. anyone know a way to decode the vin?

Your best bet is probably just ordering two new axles. They are not terribly expensive. It is 5 lug hub? Chances are it's a 3500 lbs. axle if so.

yep 5 lug. Did find max trailer weight is 6k lbs. Gota be 3500lb axles. They’re a drop axle though. Gota figure out how to measure the drop height.

Try Decodethis.com, free vin decode for vehicles and should include trailers if Mfr is registered with NHSTI..
