I miss all the cool small boats and still have a soft spot for the Merc 2-stroke V-6

Yep.
It shifted.

PB did the same.

The boats got bigger and bigger and the small stuff disappeared.

amen to that.
I can remember the Hallett 270 winning vee bottom of the year. Now if it doesn't run 150 its a turd.
And nothing screams like a 2.5 efi

From about 4th grade until about age 30, all we played with were Hydrostreams, STV's, and Allisons ... It went bigger from there, but I miss those days.

I had a Hydrostream Vegas XT mod vp. 2.4 Merc with 3 two bbl carbs and Nitrous. Relieved exhaust, velocity stacks, jack plate, foot throttle. WooHoo! What happened to all the little STVs etc? Don't see them anymore.

Crazy how many started with Aliison s and Hydrostreams.

STV's do the river runs down here.

Lol, another one checking in here. Hydrostream Valero YT with a 200 2.4 on it was my first boat.
