Could the expansion of the prop facilities also be in response to the Sharrow Marine production ramping up?

I don't pretend to know the longterm thinking behind facilities development at Mercury Racing. I do know this project has been in the works for a very long time. Though Mercury Racing operates with a degree of autonomy, major facility expansions don't happen quickly enough to be "reactions" to current events in a big corporate structure.

For what it's worth.

The Sharrow product isn't aimed at the HP market...at least not yet. So probably no cause and effect at all.

It is most likely a response to people having their wallets stuffed with money and buying everything that Mercury can make. Outboards, inboards and propellers.

The company came out with kick-a** products across several major product lines at what turned out to be just the right time.

It's about time...I mean seriously...6 - 8 months or more wait for a Mirage Plus prop currently?

If I'm not mistaken, Mirage propellers come out of Plant 98 at at the main Mercury Marine plant, not to be confused with Mercury Racing, in Fond du Lac.

So Mercury Racing's prop shop expansion won''t help you there. :) But, I also understand there has been some automation at Plant 98 that will help increase production efficiency.
