Trim tab use?
 

I've seen a lot of discussion on this on various boating forums...and frankly I really don't use mine. Not even really sure if inland lakes like I frequent have conditions that would warrant their use? For those that use them all the time, what are the major benefits and what would you recommend a 'newbie-to-the-tab-world' do?

They can be useful in a variety of conditions.
Heavy boats can utilize tab-down to get on plane easier or stay on plane at lower speeds.
Any boat can utilize tabs to compensate for unequal loading (passengers or gear) side-to-side
Any boat can utilize tabs to compensate for sea conditions (which way are the waves coming at you?)

Deck level with water equals speed and stability…utilize your tabs to get your deck level with the water…then find the proper trim with drives for YOUR boat to acquire speed and stability ….air born is not fast…cool yes….

I use mine to get on plane quicker and to level side/side, pretty much every run, or get a side up if waves are coming from that side. Or to force the nose down if the water is really rough. My last boat didn't have them and I'll never have a boat without them again.
