LMAO!

Most likely a Tik Tok "influencer".

if you are "influenced" by any one on tik tok you probably should not be allowed to make decisions about your own life. no way it would end well.

Well now this is one way to discourage rebuilding.

NORTH PORT, Fla. – Homeowners in Holiday Park, a 836-home retirement community near Florida's Gulf Coast, were devastated by Hurricane Ian. Now they're facing another headache as they work to rebuild.

Residents were told they can either pay the city of North Port $55.95 a month to keep their water meters hooked up to the central utility system, even though they can't use the water, or $77 to disconnect service and a whopping $26,900 to resume city water and sewer service once they have a livable home.

That’s if they hook up that new home before Feb. 1, 2023, when water and wastewater capacity fees increase and the cost jumps to $27,389.

Just wait until they apply for a building permit residential and commercial, said this before, the Feds are gonna stick there hands in the kitchen where they don't belong. Given the events of election day in that state you can't be your leftist arse they are going to make it difficult especially on barrier islands and beachfront/ICW water front properties. With the population increase to FL from poorly run states, you betcha, the fired from twitter & laid-off F-Book children are perfect candiates to work for NOAA, EEOC, OSHA (etc). With the new stimulas bill there is plenty of coin to hire these types for harrasment in a Red State. Sorry Mr & Mrs homeowner you cannot rebuild here anymore, this portion of the beach will become a off limits, its important habitat for sand fleas !!

I am sure there is going to be a lot of that. I have seen it already when they talk about all the condo's and homes that were washed into the ocean along our coast.

People already saying why should we the tax payer pay to rebuild beaches that rich people live on and say are private. Then again the county is going to loose a LOT of tax income, I think they have condemn something like 5 high rises already and have not got to the other 10. Those are very expensive places that are paying a bunch of property tax.

Saw this on another site and wondered if the predictions of real estate value carnage have materialized in the harder hit areas to the north of Naples. This property was supposedly bought 14 months ago for mid 700’s.

Thats not Naples, thats Isle of Capri out by Marco Island and still a steal at 900 as you can't buy anything inland for less than 500.
Good Luck on insurance though

hearing there is still lots of debris still surfacing and the ICW should be used with caution heading south. It was noted to me by a rather larger dealer in Sarasota that he would not travel south with debris they are seeing. Too much damage to lowers and props. Truth ???

I haven’t ran the boat up behind Sanibel but spent a couple weekends anchored up behind Sanibel point on the inside and have not seen any debri.

I do walk softly and with extreme caution when I am in the water though.

I don’t worry about debri while running though.
