This morning we passed 30 ambulances from Arkansas and Louisiana in convoy on Florida South I-75 near Bradenton heading most likely to Punta Gorda/Fort Myers.
We also passed 6 buses full of emergency staff.
Followed by (5) 5th wheel Pafford Emergency Medical Services from Arkansas.

Thank you All for your help

That is insane. You would think whoever owns those would have them taken away when first word storm was coming.

All those pictures are heartbreaking.

God bless .............

One of 2 things:

1. Owner never thought the storm would be that bad
2. They were heavily insured.

Forget Sanford, they got the diluted version of Ian..............What about Nortech in Cape Coral? The pics I've seen over the years were steel buildings, not concrete block so that isn't a good indicator.

Kind of a "douche" comment the day after the storm! This storm is going to be a game changer for a lot of people, if you were an AC contractor in Ft Myers you might go out of business since people are trying to rebuild their homes before they get the A/C work done. How long could you last without any work? What if you had your business based on Sanibel Island and now the bridge is washed out for the next year+++?What about all the out of area guys that converge on the area to scoop up work? What about your employees that simply decide to move out of the area rather than rebuild? What about the clients that didn't renew their newly priced flood insurance and suddenly have no coverage to pay for the rebuild?

Nobody in SW Florida gives a FVCK about boating right now!

Early estimates by catastrophe risk modelers project that Ian’s insured losses in Florida — excluding claims to the National Flood Insurance Program — will be in the $30 billion to $50 billion range. Fitch Ratings estimated insured losses between $25 billion and $40 billion.
