Outerlimits SC 37 Ready For Newport Close-Up

Outerlimits couldn’t have delivered a prettier boat to showcase this weekend, https://www.speedonthewater.com/oute...d-for-newport/

I don’t think 450Rs would push anything that fast unless you built a 25’ fly weight cat.

The motors don't have the rpm/gearing to even get to 150, no matter what boat they were on. With a 1.60 gear and 6,450rpm rev limiter, they'd have to spin 40" pitch props to the rev limiter with basically 0% slip to attain 150mph - which isn't possible. The fastest of the fast of the 450R boats I've heard of are right around the 140 mark with 1 person, no fuel, on a cold morning, etc., etc., etc..

This is a nice looking setup, glad to see they finally put a windshield on one that you can read the water conditions through - every SC37 I've seen built so far has had a windshield so darkly tinted that it would be impossible to clearly through. I made the mistake of installing a windshield that was too dark on one of my boats - never again!

The 36 Victorys were touching 140 two years ago when they were being imported. Optimum conditions, not "every day" numbers.

new 38' DW is running 137

The 37 Outerlimits runs 132+ and is a lot bigger boat overall than a 36 Victory, 38 Doug Wright, or MTI. It would be like comparing a 40 Skater to a 40 MTI, they’re not even in the same realm size wise…
