Lake ozarks

What size is your boat that your running out there?

28' Regal, before that it was a 24' Challenger with a 525 and it was rough. The Regal isn't nearly as fun but it handles the water wayyy better.

Boats are of all sizes and styles. I am guessing you are deciding whether to visit? Here's the scoop: Any boat will work Mon-Fri all year round. Summer Season Fri Starts to favor the larger boats (30'+) from the 1mm to the 35mm. Saturday and Sunday, definitely favors the bigger the better. That being said; If you come with a smaller boat, just leave earlier in the am and plan your day around coving or hitting the restaurant/bars. You have hundred's of areas to pick from!

Bottom line: Use your head, plan your day and enjoy the sights and sounds!

yep, small boat ok Monday-Thurday, Friday you will get bounced in a smaller boat. IMO the lake did get busy on Fridays at times. Run at 39 Cig CC at LOTO, the lake has changed since the Wu-Flu and the world of Fauci. It's as busy as ever and even in our sized boat we can get slammed. You realy have to pay attention of the weekends !!! More cruisers, wave runners and people in general that saw LOTO meant freedom and so they have come and it doesnt appear there will be a retreat

36" Nor-Tech Cat and 35' SeaRay SLX both are good on weekends but you still have to watch out for big wakes. Weekdays and off season just about anything can be run.

The first time I ever went was in an 18’ aluminum fishing boat. We did just fine.

35’Donzi CC. As everyone has said. It all depends on what days you want to boat and where.

My 330ss was great during the week. Prime time weekends I would drop the tabs and slow down to a couple ticks over min planing speed. Fast cruise would be uncomfortable. That’s a 20* hull.

My 35cc didn’t give a ****, it’s narrower and a sharper bottom except the pad.

Ive only been out there with my old 30' Scarab....and have seen water that rivals nasty Lake Michigan stuff when a group of big cruisers goes by or the chaos from leaving Party Cove when everyone decides to leave! On busy weekends you want something bigger but you can get by in just about anything if you are careful and know how to read the water. Ive even been on a 18' Mastercraft ski boat during 4th of July weekend once! Only did that ride once! The guys that brought that boat for that weekend said they were pissing blood from getting hammered from the waves so much! They of-course were joking...they were just making a point about how rough it was out there for them! lol

I see people out in smaller boats (25’ or less) every weekend. You aren’t gonna put the throttle to the dash and just go. You have to participate from a driving perspective but with some common sense and a good attitude you can still have a great time on a weekend in a smaller boat. Also, the crew has to pay attention to what’s coming at them. Passengers not paying attention are usually who you see in the Monday write up about weekend incidents as far as injuries.
