Outerlimits Completes Second Outboard-Powered SV 29
The second Outerlimits SV 29 with outboard power is one sexy beast, https://www.speedonthewater.com/oute...powered-sv-29/

OK, now THAT boat would make me consider OB power. Gorgeous! These 29's are simply stunning and I hope momentum continues to build for smaller performance boats!
|
Absolutely one of my favorite boats.
|
Sweet. Loving my SV 29. Very happy with build quality and performance with the Mercury 565.

What's the MSRP on these boats?

Always wondered if OL would build one of those and let you provide your own driveline, stereo, steering, etc? Like basically sell you a hull on a trailer rigged minus power....I'm sure it would still be nuts expensive but if a guy had the extra parts and to be able to make it more your own I think would be pretty cool and maybe slightly more cost effective....

I'd bet OL is so busy they wouldn't want to be bothered with a hull on a trailer idea. Its a no money job and then you would be calling with 1,000 questions on how to finish it. Buy an ex-raceboat like one of those canopy 28-29 footers like these if you want a cheaper route: https://www.offshoreonly.com/forums/...-pictures.html |

Cheapest way would have been to buy that "Eliminator 29" that was the OL hull but built out west. I think it was asking 180K and turn key.

A lot of manufactures build bare hulls. A lot of them like it. Or build one with their engine package, remove, sell and build your own. We've had a lot of clients with Formulas and Fountains do exactly that. |

That would be for OL to decide, not you.

Buying a rigged boat then selling off the engine package defeats the purpose of keeping it on a home built budget. |
Just to clarify my idea with what I was saying...I wasn't trying to try and cheap out on an OL because I don't think that's possible. I was just saying that if a guy were to have a 1000 HP blower motor and an imco say outdrive power package and want to put their own stereo in it then would they be open to either installing the customers power package and stereo components or sell it as a "bare hull" for the customer to finish. It just seems like a huge waste and opportunity for damage buy getting the whole boat rigged and then pull everything out and install your own stuff. I know the only way to tell is to call but was just spit balling an idea is all.

Can it handle two 450's as well? Im sure one is planned right? Would the 29 with 450's bring back the Reggie "Kitty Kitty" war of cat vs V? LOL, Kidding
What have the larger inboard powered 29 boats had, was the largest a 600 boat or was it a 700? The dude that had a background in hydraulics and painted it in the Gulf livery colors? That was a 700 wasnt it? |
Velocity has built a VR 1, 29 with twin 450 outboards.

Maybe the 300's kept that boat under $500K? Every little bit counts!

Rage builds a very similar boat... you can probably buy a hull setup from them. the finish work is top notch

They need to break the Outerlimits 36 back out but with with trip 300's or 450's.

It might run decent with just twin 450's. Anyone remember what it ran with 520's?

The new Ilmor LS-based small block 570s seem like an ideal engine package for this boat.

Gorgeous boat!! Well done, OL!

I really enjoy seeing the hot-rods that the Weigl's build. That 1100/1350 34 of theirs is mental. |
96 mph would keep me happy. I'm happy with low 80s now in my little 22.
