First boat
I was going through some old photo's and ran across a couple pics of my first boat......1997 2252 ARRIVA...454 B-1

I always loved Arriva boats...and that one is particularly good looking!
God...you don't see those around much...if any. The local Baja dealer sold them for a while... |
My first boat was before cameras where made. I think it was a 12 or14' Hardy Boys boat with a 35 Evinrude that worked 1/2 the time. And there's probably 2 people here who even know what the Hardy Boys are.

1993 206 Rinker with a fire breathing 4.3LX/Alpha. Back in the days when the wife actually would drive our boats.

22' Scarab w/454.
Not mine, but looked just like this after removing the old worn decals. https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...1ac908e02e.jpg |

bought and “restored” when I was 13 or 14, kept it under a cover in the garage for the last 20 years, finally pulled it out and shined her up last spring. Another round of polishing and a few missing lights to go

My first boat was a 12' aluminum V bottom with a 3 hp Johnson. To go in reverse, you had to spin the motor around!

10’6” fiberglass with a 5.5 Hanimex. No neutral, same 360 degree pivot for reverse. 🙂 https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.off...2e234940d.jpeg RR |
I had a 8ft hydroplane with a 10hp on the back that worked 25% of the time lol and it had tiller steering!!! I think I was around 12 when I bought it. Can't find pictures of it. When it ran it was a lot if fun. Unfortunately my father sold it because he got tired of towing it in.

Gorgeous!
Always wanted a tin double cockpit runabout like that. Had an old Crestliner w/twins but ran out of time before finishing it.

Built a 8’ Tiny Titan 3 point hydro from Glen L plans when I was 13.
Had a couple of 10 hp motors on it. Ran low 30’s but felt like a 100! My parents had a cabin cruiser docked on Sandusky Bay in Lake Erie and I kept that hydro in the water tied to the swim platform w/a 5 gallon can of 2-stroke! As long as I wore a life jacket the old man let me terrorize Sandusky Bay in that thing! What a life for a 13 yr old! It was Utopia 🤓 |

1989 Rinker 236 Sport Cuddy, mildly warmed over 454/B1. Flogged it like Molly for ten years, then sold it to some friends. We still tie up next to it all summer long. Thanks. Brad. (937)545-8991 |
Mine was a 2000 Velocity 280 with a 540. Covered a lot of the Potomac River and Chesapeake bay in it.

First powerboat was a impulsively bought 1981 Sea Sprite. For three years it drained endless money from me until I finally realized we owned a true lemon and sold it at a huge loss.

70's Thunderhawk with a 25HP Envinrude longshaft. My dad bought it second hand in the early 80's for putting around Passamaquoddy Bay mid coast Maine. I was in my early teens and was in heaven for having access to a powerboat!

My very first boat was a Baylliner 2050 Capri that I bought from that dealer in 1989 for $14,500. Kept it three years, traded on my first Baja (a 208 Islander) and they gave me...$14,500 trade in, lol! |
Tri-hull...love it!!!

Had a 70's era16' Browning Mustang with a 70 Rude very similar to this one. Family loved it! Sold it and the new owner promptly destroyed it.

I remember someone on here did the math on that boat.
Knew the design, cruising speed, divided by a 2 hr tour and came up with them driving it on the beach 15 mls from its home port!! Hilarious. Guessing alcohol was involved in figuring out the equation!
