27 Excalibur - any available with clean title

There is one in Maryland but the reputable shop /owners do not have title to vessel and have expressed that it's not worth their time to go through the process of procuring a title.

I contacted Maryland DNS and it isn't much of a process to procure title for the shop. Just some paperwork.

Was told by them take as is (no title) or walk. So , it's a shame that this boat will just sit there (I assume) or go to a wood chipper...

That hull deserves a new life. But as Chinese say- "No ticket ,no laundry".

So , if anyone here knows of one for sale preferably with no power I would appreciate the communication.

Not all states require a title on boat in Connecticut you just need a bill of sale

Louisiana is a title state,

MARYLAND’S BOAT TITLING REQUIREMENTS

All boats that require registration in Maryland are also required to be titled. Without a valid title, a boat will not be registered or be able to renew an application for registration. Payment of vessel excise tax must accompany an application for a title (all vessel excise tax is deposited into the Waterway Improvement Fund).

OTHER REGISTRATION INFO

The Maryland Department of Natural Resources (DNR) must be notified within 15 days when:
  • A boat is sold, traded or transferred.
  • A boat is stolen, lost or destroyed.

I'm just on the hunt for a 27 Excalibur .....preferably just a bare hull or less power.

If boat is from a Bill of Sale state then that would make a deal. Louisiana would accept that and apply /create title .

Register it through GA. You can use my address. Then transfer after a year to LA

-The state of Georgia does not require boats to have titles. However, all watercraft operated on public waterways in the state must have a current registration from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources (DNR). Some vessels, like small sailboats and boats with no motorized propulsion, are exempt.

When applying for a Georgia boat registration, the state requires title as proof of ownership if the vessel comes from a title state.

Appreciate the offer , but it's back to the title state issue.

I bought an a USCG documented boat once, but the registration hadn't been kept up for a few years. I wanted a title for it, so I just made a bill of sale stating that it came from Arizona (non title state) and took it to the DMV. Absolutely no problem getting a title for it.
