Block identification
Good morning
Thank you for letting me join, i am looking for information on my block number #F774641 so i make sure i order the correct parts as i rebuild this engine, but i cant find anything al |
So I'm not that good at research either however I did find this: Mercruiser (5.7l / Lx 350 Mag Alpha / Bravo) Somewhere around a 1996?
|
That is not a block casting number. Not sure what that number is from.
Post what you know about the engine that you have. |
Are you near Spokane? If so it wouldn’t cost anything to have Mark or Chad at Legend Performance Marine to take a quick look at it and tell you what you have.
|
I thought that the number he has is from the Mercury tag? I used a zero for the first number which he doesn't show. 0F774641. I used that on one of the sites and it came up with the description above.
|
I know little about we bought it from a guy in moses lake, to replace the engine i lost in my sea ray back in 14 after an extreme temperature drop after we had been out all day on the lake, on the side of the block is a metal plate with the numbers i wrote, if theres numbers else where i can look then up, and add
|
|
350
Let me try this 10243880, the other number is a plate that is from Mercury,
|
Sounds like a Vortec 350 (5.7)
|

Pictures would help confirm. |
See if you can see the stamping on the front left pad of the block on the machined area, the block casting date will be on the other side from the casting #

It's probably a 96-99 Vortec L31 based setup. Roller cam. I don't think the Vortec L31 went through any real changes through its production run.
Pictures would help confirm. |

You are on post 7 so just add three more posts to this thread. Most people will just count them down. Post 8, then 9, then 10, then pics! :coolcowboy:
