New boats could be considered the AMF era of Harley or the CBS era of Fender!

If that boat is legitimately worth $1.8 then offshore boating has officially Jumped the Shark.

Sad because I think the styles and lines are the best in the business.

When I first arrived at the Cigarette display and walked up to the 515 the cabin door was closed, I asked if I could look further and was told that this boat was just barely finished up for the show. I also mentioned to my wife that the finish was not what I expected from Cigarette. Unfortunately you don’t know what to believe, but I would think if you are asking 2.3 mil for this boat, you would have put your best product out there.

Just keep bring those pre-Ruiz Cigs to LOTO for the Rendezvous!!! Love hearing the thunder and then seeing so many of them running hard down the main channel literally eating all of the waves LOTO can throw at them! Don’t let the new ownership drag down the brand! The AMF/Harley comparison may be a good one. I envision new ownership inside of 5 years.

I walked through the Cigarette display Saturday. I love Cigarette boats, but I was extremely disappointed with the display and general "you are an inconvenience to my day attitude" by the 10 or more Cigarette employees who ignored me and all of the show attendees while I was present. If I were a prospect that ship has sailed.

My guess is cigarette is marketing their new products mostly to wealthy Europeans, the Riva and Magnum crowd on the coast of France, Italy and Spain along with some mid-east customers. None of these owners will ever raise the hatch, check oil or flush the engines.

Agree, Ive been every year tremendous event, the best for me was when some of the Cig factory folks flew in spent some time talking with them at the Toad, awesome time people who really cared about the folks that own the product they created.

winner.................., I will reserve my comments about the European elites, their fashion sense fits with the current Cig apparel however.

Default Market size

I'd imagine that the US market is much bigger than the Mediterranean.

I remember checking out the Cigarette pier in St Tropez as a teenager, though. There was an apparel store as well. Very traditional apparel at steep prices.
