Cigarette Racing Apparel Store Hate

I figured I’d post my experienced opinion on the matter because this is brought up in so many threads…

Last September, we bought our first ever cigarette boat. In my excitement, I wanted to buy some tee shirts for my family. I went to the website and recoiled when I saw the prices at the cigarette boutique. I wasn’t going to just throw money away like that for a tee-shirt

I was able to find some sources on Amazon and eBay. Spent over $100 on 4 shirts. They were all total ****. Complete waste of $.

Christmas came around and my wife bought me several tees (both short sleeve and long sleeves) and a Performance cap all from the cigarette boutique online. She actually got me a couple sizes of each shirt so I could try them on and return what I didn't want.

Firstly, everything was shipped in custom CR1 logo'd boxes. The shirts were folded and encased in a shirt bag and each had a nice keychain included. The tags were thick and made if a very high quality card stock like you’d expect on any expensive designer garment.
The shirts and hat material is about as high of quality as you can get. Arguably the best I’ve ever owned in a tee and cap. What really sets them apart though is the quality of the printing. I’ve never seen such vibrant print on a shirt. It’s actually part of the fabric. It’s not a heat applied uncomfortable patch like my black “eBay” shirt (pictured). They have already been worn and laundered a LOT. They haven't faded or worn at all.

The shirts have soft patches and flags as part of the design and they have a contoured hem around the waste which I really really like and wasnt expecting. There are other features too like the red cording on the inside neckline.

The fit and finish on the cap exceeded my expectations as well. It’s the nicest logo cap I’ve ever seen.

Do I wish the apparel were cheaper? Of course. But do I think that they are gouging people? No. I think they just want a product of which they can be proud and they can be pretty proud of this. The tee shirt is probably a decent value when it’s all said and done. I can tell you the Ferrari licensed merchandise is not as good of value. And for what it’s worth, my wife said the return process was really easy.

I’ve included pictures so you can see the difference for yourself. The cigarette shirts are on the left. The “eBay” shirt has been worn and washed twice. The Cig Boutique shirts have been worn and washed weekly since Christmas.

I know I’ll get dragged for this, but oh well. I actually own the damn merch so my opinion is at least experienced.

I agree, I bought a hat and a sweatshirt at the boat show and quality of both is top notch.

I have to agree with you, I just purchased two hoodies and a tee shirt at the Miami show, yes they were pricey but after seeing them in person, they are quality. If you were buying Coach, Prada, or other designer brands you would’ think the price was bad. The price you pay for high quantity isn’t bad if it outlasts the junk 4to1. That is the reason I bought a Cigarette to begin with. :flag:

Don't drip hot dog mustard on that logo wear.

I've got a couple genuine cigarette shirts as well.

They are about 10 years old. I haven't been on the sight but are the shirts not "dri-fit"? Are they traditional cotton? I only ask because I haven't bought a traditional cotton shirt in years.

Nice to see a positive thread about this. Good quality apparel goes a long way.

I wish Formula had some apparel you can wear to the dock without looking like you are showing up for the National Badminton championship
