Pretty cool revival of the 35

I like the way the flybridge steps have been redesigned

I didn't know that the Bertram 31 was a Cult Classic

31’ Bertrams and 13’ Boston Whalers seemed to be extremely popular boats at the Jersey shore, back in the 70’s, 80’s and still are liked by many boating enthusiasts.

i never owned a 31’ Bertram, but I have always liked this model.

can’t imagine the outboards being good for fishing

sailtexas186548 03-13-2023 04:08 PM

I've been waiting for them to put a 90* gear box in the bilge and start dropping the powerheads in like inboards, similar to the jet boats of the early 2000's. Yeah its not a clamp on but it could be dam close and look 1,000,000 times better

Why not throw another 12 degrees +/- on that 90 and use the shaft strut and rudder or is thaf what your saying.
those optimax powerhead whaler jetboat is cool ( think it was whaler)

yeah that’s what I’m saying, or even a 90* to an out drive but that may be too tall to fit under most hatches.

Inboard boats just look so much better

Twin O/B Sonic 03-14-2023 06:06 PM

I think 31’.

The guy I built boats for in Fla started w/a 25’ Bertram and added, I think, 2’ beam, 3’ to length, and added a pad to the bottom and converted to twin OB!

Very cool boat!

You could see the Bertram lineage in it.
