Nicely done, but someone please explain the black seating surfaces in a open cockpit boat. Is this one heading to a Nordic country?

I thought the same thing a few years ago when I saw a Statement at Fish & Co. at LOTO on a hot August day but upon asking the owner to check it out, the black Alcantara interior was cooler to the touch than a lot of lighter colored vinyl interiors I've owned over the years.

Sharp. Wonder what it would run with 450's?

Do these large C.C. boat get covered with the usual one piece cover when not in use ? Got to be a pain putting it on/off over the fixed console top.

boomer 04-06-2023 12:14 PM

I agree another CC how about some nice walk thru Dual Consoles for those that want windshields and better protection

I wonder what’s next.

Big outboard catamarans are all the rage with the fish boys.

We have a small one and love it as well. Was hard to find one.

On second look, this appears to be the old 38 cc hull updated.

Market seems to be demanding boats with more beam and more freeboard.

Most CC covers don't go over the t-top but secure underneath it. But yes, they are a PIA, and my boat is considerable shorter than this boat.

As far as the CC haters, I really don't see the trend going away and people going back to traditional v-hulls with small cockpits.

Unless your condo's association won't allow them, most at LOTO go with these. If you have your own dock then it's not an issue. Definitely worth the money in terms of complete protection and convenience.

Unless its a small cockpit Cat, people love those.

I thought DONZI showed a OB performance V, what happened to that?

Im actually surprised they're so popular for a lot of reasons. A lot of them being to wide to trailer without permits/banners and too tall to fit into most garage doors less than 14ft tall so you lose the whole trailer boating market. Basically just for people who leave them outside on a lift. With the outboards, they lose a ton of access the water and historically double bolster boats haven't been popular (I know why cause I owned one).
They're good for what they were designed for though... fishing offshore.

Just a few thoughts and clarifications as I know who ordered this and have talked at length with Craig B. and Fred at Donzi.

First: This was ordered with the 300s with the paint and interior to the owners spec. It looks beautiful and is a well laid out day boat. Is it over the top, big, bold, wide, with a huge cabin - no. Is it based off the older models - yes but it is a new hull and slightly wider.

Second: There is a market for these and it is not designed to compete against the larger CC cruisers. Not everyone wants, nor can afford a million dollar 40' CC and only want a day boat with a usable bathroom. Not everyone wants to do 90+ in a CC - heck, going over 70 MPH in a CC is not really fun for an extended time to be honest. At the Donzi 39 CC price point, if you do have a million $ to spend, you can have the Donzi and also an OB cat that runs 100+ that actually is fun to drive.

Knot 4 Me 04-13-2023 09:48 AM

^^^^ 70 MPH in a CC (been that in a couple Nor-Tech's) is plenty fast.

I like this boat. Nice addition to the market.
