Thanks. Brad.

Just got back after running the B1 - 28 pitch. Turns out that there wasn't as much "throttle" left as I had thought \ hoped. I took a buddy and still have basically a full tank. It got on plane easily, mid range cruise was really good at 58 mph @ 3500 rpm. I was able to top out at 75 mph in the river, with the current but only reached about 4500 rpm. I am very happy with the speed. I will try the 26's later this weekend.

PQ290,

My guess is you’ll be 77MPH @ 5100 with the 26s.

How was the ride?

Thanks. Brad.

And you’re suggesting taller props that will lug the engine everywhere :picard1:

It was awesome. Very stable, no chine walk. Didn't use tabs for anything either. It did get a little upset at speed when I came up on some traffic. Parallel to their wakes. Kinda introduced some chine walk but nothing scary and it recovered nicely. 77 is pretty close to maxing out my speedo :D

Hogie,

Because taller props are what is needed. A properly loaded engine is far preferable to running an engine on puke all the time.

Engine load is just like blood sugar. Too high kills you slowly, and can be mitigated before catastrophe, but too low kills you like right now, and it’s very often too late when it’s discovered.

Thanks. Brad.
