The Tuff Marine Story

A close look at the origins and the future of the custom builder from Ontario, Canada. I spent some time with Mark and Thomas at the owners run in September and got to ride in the amazing 34 and new 25.

How are these boats in the rough? Every video I have ever seen of them is on water that looks like glass.

Pad bottom?

Great stuff again WavetoWave.

A Tuff is one of my bucket list boats. Albeit with several others…

They can be great. I rode in the Gray 25 across the bay in a decent chop. They have a good deadrise and a nice bow entry. Tuff isn't trying to build a heavy true offshore design, they make the fastest most efficient V hulls in a range of sizes.

I think their lack of participation in offshore racing and big-water poker runs tells a lot about their rough water capabilities. Very fast little boats in the right conditions though!

They're building a Cat next to compete in super stock. Most of the 28 "rough water" capable hulls could never keep up to a Tuff 28 with the same power. There's always a trade-off
