Spider cracks in the gel, inferior hardware on the seats, rub rail came loose, no sealant on the screws where they penetrated the transom and stringers, sloppy wiring etc. And mine was the 2003 SEMA show boat. Maybe they were in a rush to finish it, but that wouldn't explain the spider cracks, which is all about rigidity and layup.

Quality was quickly remedied when Randy Davis bought out the owner and founder Orval Sommerstedt in 2005. Davis bought the company due to his long history of waterski endurance racing. He moved all manufacturing in-house and brought Nordic up to become one of the best 'Left Coast' custom boat manufacturers. In 2017 he also saved Hallett Boats. The 28 Heat has 24 degree deadrise and I bet one of the Davis' produced ones could hold its own in some pretty rough stuff.

Good to know. I wasn't condemning the brand. I really liked my Flame, but it could have been built better.
