Key West for New Years
 

Business as usual kept us from making it down for the Worlds BUT the idea stayed and instead of cancelling reservations we decided to spend a week at New Year! Pretty Damn excited still!! even though we missed all the OSO partys and crew.
Towing the boat down on the 27th and staying thru 5 Jan.
Anybody have any good sugestions on things to do see and eat and also the best Marina to use.
NewYears Eve is our 9th aniversary, trying to kick the tenth year off with a bang! Suggestions appreciated and will be noted:D :D

What?? Yall must be really burnt out on the Keys to not wanna offer up any ideas. Figured I'd come out with at least one killer resteraunt out of this thread.

I have been for new years twice, keep the boat @ the galleon and be right inthe middle of the street between sloppy's and ricks for the ringing in of the new year.

Also, as far as dinners go.... Kelly Mcgillis restr. is
good but more evpensive. Best Mud slides are at
Lazy Geko accross from Ricks. Sloppys has a Key Lime
shooter that is different and a live web cam so you can
call your friends and wave at them.:D

there is a restr. called Mango Mamas that has excellent seafood

we have been staying at the galleon over x-mas and new years....for i don't know how long...same slips:D ....A&B, right next door, is one of the best on the island and my absolute favorite! if our AT is not sold yet, we'll be there for sure...my parrents will be there for sure with "just say no"....my cell # is 734 635 1697 if have any questions or just wana hook up for a drink?

For sure! several! mine is 478-396-2749 planin on a having a blast, last trip out for New Years went to Tahoe pretty siked bout going south and skipping the cold.

Would be great to have nav on board never boated in the Keys! If your willin to slum around in my ride :D :D

We also are trailering down to the keys for New Years, actually, the guys are trailering down to Miami, and will be trying to make a run the the Bahamas (depending on wind and weather) and then making a run south to meet the wives in Key West for New Years. Leaving the 21st. We will be in a Cig Cafe. Cell phone while down there (301) 399-1799. Have not confirmed any reservations yet though. Would like to hook up anyone down there.

Audacity, i have had the AT down ther in 98 but it was on the poker run and not for new years. i was down for new years in 93, 94, or maybe 94 and 95 cant remember it is all a blur. i did vegas last year that was a pretty good time.

The Galleon is the ticket.We were there last News Years eave at midnight standing in the road out side Sloppy Joe's, It rained champaine for 10 minutes.I would like to repete the trip this year but am not having much luck with the itinerary. I think I started looking too late.

also check out the conch republic seafood company (just down the boardwalk from A-B) I am a sucker for the catch of the day sandwich blackened (minus bun) all for under 10 bucks and they have a good happy hour also.

We will also be at the Galleon from the 26th to the 30th. Making the run down from Fort Lauderdale. Look for the Horse!

By the way, I second the recommendationfor A&B. Always a treat. Also try Michael's and Alice's.

If you want a great steak the Commadore is between A&B and Conch Republic upstairs.

There's not too many places to go by boat in Key West, but if you take a day trip back up to the middle keys there are plenty of little bars/resturants to go by boat. Watch out for shallow water :p Do yourself a favor and get a chart, there is alot of shallow water around there.

I'll be there as I always am boatless being a slug bummin rides from everyone here on the board.. Audacity was kind enough to take me for a few rides last new years...........

there are some cool day spots around the island...or you can head back up to have lunch...ram rod has a cool tiki bar...or little palm island is big $$$ meals and drinks...something you have to once...really i have no idea why we keep going back....

This is OHHH so true, got some good driving and stick lessons from the man,, problly why I didn't blow up as many motors this year:D :D

i think you may have killed a brain cell or two on the docks that night!!!

I dare not post the pictures from that night but they are pretty damn funny... gotta love the dread lock jamacin hat that I still have no idea where I got......:D

Eat at Don Shulas steak house , its the best . its in the Wyndham Reach Resort hotel on 1435 SIMONTON STREET one block over from duval ( south end ) . P.S get the steak maryann . tdf

Hey we'll be there, a great idea is to drop the boat in Miami and go down on the boat, once ther rent a 3 wheel scooter to get around. Linda and I will be down on Dec 28th, our cell is 954-805-9828, we will be staying at a B&B near Duval St Linda knows the name.

Help! lost room B&B called last night told us they had a error and had previously booked our room F#%k!!! SOunds pretty fishy!Going to cheesee hotel if nothing found quick any ideas. Have RCI timeshare but not much help on Key West, only two Ocean Key house and Gallieon is booked, any ideas?????

Man never sweat the smal stuff. Honey found Chamber of Commerce then directed to Key West innkeepers and now we are in Duvall Gardens B&B on Duvall St. Life is good seems to get better every other stroke
