Thundercat Inflatable Racing
Looking to do some thundercat racing in Florida this year. Trying to rally anyone with one that's willing to travel to Florida to come race. Numbers have been growing and I think we'll have enough this year to have a pretty good show out.
If you're new to the idea, thundercats are 13' inflatable catamaran RIBS that were designed to race in the big waves of South Africa. They run 50 hp 2 strokes with tiller steering and get up to 70mph with engine mods. Cheap fun and they turn like an F1 but are 10x cheaper. Hope to tack on thundercat racing to a jetski surf race in Panama City Florida this spring. There seem to be a lot of thundercats in central Florida on both coasts so I'd like to set something up down there. Preferably on the coast but inland can be fun too. If you have one and are willing to travel, let me know. Lets go racing! Jim Keith Cracker Bay Thundercats |
I have a couple Thundercats, and I will say they are more fun than a jet ski. They are a blast in the big breaking waves. I'm too far away to play with you, but I hope it takes off!

I've been wanting one for years here in the Mid-Atlantic, but timing and logistics just haven't lined up when a good one pops up for sale. I'm too old to race, but I still want one.
Someday... |
Great idea and I think it will work!
PS, post your idea on screamandfly.com They are way more small OB boats oriented. |
