The 98 RON has higher flash point than the 95 RON and may not burn as completely. I doubt you will see any noticeable difference in a boat. In a car driven under identical driving conditions, it might be a 2-3% mpg difference with E10 running the same octane. Now if you run E85, the mpg difference is about 20-25%. If I remember, you have a 450R, so the it requires 89 octane/93 RON. Not sure exactly what RON fuels you have available. Anything above the 93 RON is fine for the engine and it can run on E10. My concern running E10 is the fuel tank and the rest of the fuel system. E10 attracts water and can get phase separation when stored. Ethanol is also classified a solvent and is hard on rubber fuel lines. |

Ethanol contains about one-third less energy than gasoline. So, vehicles will typically go 3% to 4% fewer miles per gallon on E10 and 4% to 5% fewer on E15 vs 100% gasoline. I personally love ethanol, 20-30% lowers Intake air temps significantly and has much better detonation resistance. Always thought I had more engine problems in LOTO with 100% gasoline, that I thought was so great . |

Bevare if you don't have a stainless steel fuel tank, my integrated polyester tank dissolved when E10 95 was implemented here in Sweden.
