What do you think
I think the OB's mess the lines of the boat up, and I always wonder when you move BBC that were low and forward of the transom and move the (granted less) weight behind the transom and the power head is higher what it does to the roll center and CG.
I suppose getting the CG back is easy but not sure about the roll center. EDIT: https://www.offshoreonly.com/classif...rs-o84409.html |
The link isn`t anything with OB`s . It`s Dales Donzi

Fixed link. Nice DONZI BTW. |
Skater 30 brought it up last year. There's a reason supercat lap times are considerably faster than the 450 class. Better cg, more weight where you want it. Whenever they've tried to combine OB and IO classes in offshore, even in hulls with theoretical top speeds that are even, the OB boats get clobbered. They don't stay in the water as well.

I saw that boat this last year at Supercat Fest West in Havasu. It had inboards in it at that time and was also for sale. To each their own but boy does it look horrible now.

oh WTF. 🤦🏻♂️ Pretty sure that’s the boat SOTW wrote a story about the seller going to do the Catalina race with. It had very lower how 525s with #6s.
Two minutes later the motors were for sale, Then the boat and I’m sure the drives are in the classifieds. Now they spend how much to f it up like that… |
