House Rental

Looking for a house rental on the lake of the ozarks . We would like to be near Camden Lakes and have a boat dock. We plan on going for one week during the shoot out. Seems like a really cool lake for boating and we are really looking forward to it. Any help would be appreciated.

We rented one on airbnb close to performance boat center and while it's stupid expensive it looks like an awesome house and has a great covered dock for both of the 37s that are going. My only word of caution is that there are so many options your head will hurt from searching.

My buddy has a house near Coconuts , boat dock and lift for a 25' boat
Not sure if that`s close to Camden lakes .

I assume he means Camden on the Lake aka H Toad's???

Coconuts is 7 miles away by water, but as much as an hour away by car.

How many people and how big of boat??

A condo will be quite a bit less $$ than a house and much easier to find what you are looking for.

Currently we have five people . The boat is a 39'

I wouldn't hesitate. Gate on VRBO etc and look NOW! That is a huge week and good, or even average, stuff goes early and $$$. Condos will be a good option. Some may have the bed setup you need, even with 5 people.

Found a nice house on mile marker 8 , I guess this is a good spot?
Also the shoot out is week of Aug 18th

8mm is a great spot, make sure you are on the east side of the lake unless you plan on boating to everything. The drive from the west side to the strip/camedon/redhead is quite a trip.

ICDEDPPL 04-09-2024 04:05 PM

8MM and the shootout is by Captain Rons which is 34MM.
That`s quite a haul, on that super busy weekend you`re going to get beat up for 26 miles one way, that`ll suck. ... on the other hand maybe they still got the 10 mile no wake zone?
I was at the shootoput one time that was good enough for me.
$hit show with way too many people but that`s just my opinion lots of people love that weekend.

There is not a "bad" spot to be on the lake but some spots are much better than others. The 8mm would not be my choice on either side of the lake. It is either a long way down HH or a long way down MM and across the bridge. It will take you 30+ mins to get anywhere by car. I'm at the 20mm on the Osage Beach side and can be pretty much anywhere there is anything going on in 5-20 mins.
Keep in mind, there is next to no docking at Camden on the Lake because its all reserved. There is docking at Shady Gators across the cove and a shuttle, but that is also packed and near impossible to find a slip.
IMO, the best location to be for Shootout week is between the 14 and 24mm on the Osage Beach side of the lake. 15 mins to almost anywhere.

Shootout events start Weds the 21st with the Street Party and the Shootout ends Sunday at 4pm ish. Going the Shootout on Sunday is way less of a chit show
The no wake on Saturday is from 34mm to the 21mm and starts at 1 or 2pm and goes till 7pm. Other than during that time, its a 3 mile no wake when you get close to the Shootout

You should be able to find a nice 3+ BR condo with a 40' slip that should meet your needs. This is my friend's rental company. He has condos and houses. https://lakeoftheozarksrentalproperties.com/

Is there a boat ramp net to mile marker 8 , also where's a good place to store a trailer

36Tango 04-16-2024 09:08 AM

I agree with Griff on all points and Cashbar is right in saying to do it NOW! Hell, now might even be too late.

I see that you are from PA. Have you done any boating on the Ohio north of Pittsburgh? My daughter lives in that area for another year and we thought about dragging a boat out there this summer.

baja27 04-16-2024 01:36 PM

36 TANGO we boat in the Chesapeake

I have plenty of room to store trailers. We live @ 39mm outside of Laurie off 5 by truck. May even have open dock space if needed & short no wake for Shootout.
Hey Tango, hit me up. Grew up in Pittsburgh on Allegheny River & boated entire 1000 miles of Ohio River. Rob 573-319 eight eight one zero
