Wow, do you have one these posted at your work place to be so hard on your self! :lolhit:
I see nothing wrong with what you did...like the rest have said, you can only report what you have info wise and correct when/if you get more info later...and you did. So Thanks for the clarifications and carry on! :ernaehrung004:

Anyone remember all the Power Boat magazine reviews and speed tests back in the 90s when every boat Fountain brought had their stock Mercruiser power “ massaged “ so it ran 5 mph than competitors boats ?

Helmwurst 05-04-2024 08:17 AM

No need to apologize.

I think he was busting my jewels in a good natured way with first comment. (I llaughed., anyway.) As for the comment alleging Fountain engine monkey business in the 1990s for the Powerboat magazine Performance Trials, if they were "special" engines neither I nor did any of my fellow editors or test drivers knew about it. That much I can say with absolute confidence.

No need to apologize! Love your articles Matt and Jason.

radar guns suck at measuring boat speeds i have a custom radar gun and its difficult to get it to lock onto a boat with high accuracy there is way better technology to do this in todays world, factory billet,s run that was much faster than expected is questionable there is proper accurate ways to know top speed

Twin O/B Sonic 05-06-2024 04:56 PM

This is why the APBA and UIM, and every other true boat racing org only recognize Kilo runs.

Surveyed and certified.

Expensive, I get it.

That brings us GPS’s, Lowrance, Radar etc.

Is it the same as a Kilo run?

Course not.

But if, you understand it ain’t the same or, as we did at our runs, hand everyone the same, handheld GPS, they know, fastest guy there is fastest guy there.

Compared to actual speeds??, who knows, who cares.

Fastest there?

Yes.

Thanks for the story on the story.

You guys are the best and PLEASE, don’t ever stop!

Sad yes, but there is a new hope... SuperCat Fest West! :party-smiley-048:
