Cig at Haulover, what happened

loose anchor bangin' the bottom, or QC issue...................anyone have knowledge of cause ?

WARPARTY36 06-20-2024 09:32 AM

I’d say the safety latch came off of the anchor and it beat the crap out of the hull. I’ve had it happen, just not that bad.

thisistank 06-20-2024 09:54 AM

On one of the video threads someone said they hit a shipping container.

Sucks for sure.

IGetWet 06-20-2024 09:56 AM

I’d think it’d take something bigger than the anchor on that boat to do that. Shipping container sounds about right!

87CigCafe 06-20-2024 10:05 AM

Beat me

Best me to it I was about the make the same post! Lol

The port motor is shaking like crazy near the end of the drone shot. I can just imagine what the gearcase and prop (or lack of) looks like.

Drake22.250 06-20-2024 10:54 AM

Hit a Russian Sub, probably Trumps fault my guess.....

Where did you get this info? I heard nothing. Thats a good reason to refund if that happened, but why the big delay in communication?

Is there a way to block this AI junk?

Seems like it must be a pretty solid build or something because I can't imagine why she didn't sink

36Tango 06-22-2024 09:53 AM

Any pics of it on the trailer?
I am not exactly up to speed on the construction methods, but can the outer part peel off without affecting the inner part kind of like plywood delaminating? It did not seem like they were in a huge rush, so I assume they were not taking on water. Not judging at all, just trying to learn.

plavutka 06-22-2024 10:26 AM

About ten years ago, a similar thing happened to the 12 m Hustler in the Adriatic near town Pula. Almost the entire left side of the bottom was delaminated and it got to the marina on balsa sandwich and inner laminate. Delamination was to blame then.

Eddienel 06-22-2024 02:32 PM

I’m pretty impressed at how well it did for that much damage.

Yet they didn’t put on life jackets. If that’s not the time to put one on, then when is?

if you look further at the vid both bilge outlets at rear are at full, there pissing hard, wish we could get some pics of this boat on the trailer or headed to its rack. Would not be a surprise if no other info ever surfaces about this boat and its totaled.
