Foremost insurance.........anyone use them?

I've had them for 3 years, no claims, no complaints.

Received my renewal a few days ago and it went down by 14%. I thought "sweet" however, what changed? I reviewed the Declaration pages they sent and nothing changed. I called and asked about territorial limits and why the rate change and again told nothing changed. I realized there were alot more pages to the policy (the fine print) and requested those be sent.

So, I guess I found why the rate dropped!
Apparently once a hull is 15 years old (my boat is a 2009) the policy is no longer an "Agreed Value" but instead an "Actual Cash Value". In a total loss this could be a BIG number difference. Further calls only got me as far as an underwriter would have to determine value at the time of loss. Obviously un-acceptable so I'm freakin shopping again!

Something similar happen to me with a different carrier. We had to get a independent survey done for them to write as agreed value based on the survey

The majority of performance boats are getting old. Not much you can do about it no matter how nice you keep them up.

good info, thanks for pointing this out. current policy 9/29/23 thru 9/29/24 is for a 'agreed value'. Will watch for my renewal.

I just switched to progressive after shopping around. They used agreed value.

That is what I've found so far but I just not sure I want to sign up with Progressive. Lots of claims disputes can be found online.

Was with Progressive for eight years. Found out last year that they screwed me 3 years back. This past November Progressive raised my premium $500. So I switched to State Farm, same exact coverage that I had with progressive and paying 2022 prices. State Farm has agreed value also...

I had Foremost with my 27' Fountain. My policy was agreed at 50k as that was the max that my agent could value it at. I now have my 32 Sunsation with Auto Owners and have agreed value. A survey was required based on the value of the boat.

I had them for a while. With Wagner on the Tiger. It’s worth a call to them. Sorry you missed me last weekend - certainly your loss……
