Class 6 racing
 

Can anyone give me some insight about it? Highly considering jumping into it to get started into this sport. Seems as if good reliable power and 70mph max is the ticket? Does it have to be two man operated or can it be one? Does anyone know of a good class 6 rig for sale is?

Ha, you better find a sponsor or 2 or 3. The incidental costs mount up fast.

I actually do! And a very large restaurant chain that has really blown up in my area is the one that has confronted me with all of this ( friends and neighbor) with owner of CEO of said restaurant. I also have many others willing to help me as well! So looking forward to it thanks!

i think these classes are by far the best racing out there i have an active thunder 25 that was built to race but never has been i think it would be awesome to race it but i would need to figure out how not break out and that would be hard

Getting into offshore racing; bracket racing is the place to start. And of course, I recommend starting with us; BoatRacingExperience.com. We have over 20 years of offshore racing experience, multiple National and World Championships and are currently re-building our One Design Powerboats fleet (under new ownership). Ask around, you’ll find that tons of racers either started with a ‘Bat Boat’ or race one sometime in their career. Our boats are safe, competitive and an absolute blast to race.

I agree that a BatBoat is the perfect choice for a couple of reasons

It is a great platform for a Class 6 boat and can handle to rough stuff better than anything in its class. A 383 and Bravo 3 will get you going as fast as you need to be.

More important to that is that the unique appearance of the boat makes people stop and look. We actually had a hospital sponsor us and they got thier "bang for the buck" out of appearances that we did at baseball parks, hockey rinks, special events, farmers markets, etc. We had a breast cancer awareness theme and we used the boat to stop people, and then we always had somebody at St Lukes with us to explain thier services. They gained allot of customers through this boat. The same thing could hold true for a restaurant sponsorship. People could stop to look at the boat, while somebody would hand out information/coupons, etc. My son raced a couple of times in Class 6 that gave us some "cred" and gave us some great video to play at the events that we went to. During the summer, we would do a small town parade about every other week and throw pink beads out to the crowd. We also had a "baseball card" with a pic of the boat and specs on the front, and sponsor information on the back. It worked very well. If you are an introvert, or you do not like answering "how fast does it go?" hundreds of times everytime you drag it out, this would not be the boat for you. In my opinion, sponsors are looking for the sizzle which a batboat will give you. Very few, if anybody will really care what you did on the water. Sponsore will love what it can do for them IF you put the work in.

Class 6 is 26 and under V hulls. NA engines and bravo based drives bracketed at 70mph. Its an AWESOME competitive semi affordable class. Id be happy to answer any questions you have. Were currently looking at a 10 boat fleet headed into 2025 with the possibility of our own in house championship series.

We started in a 26 Sutphen and are now in a26 Modern Marine. There are a lot of 24x7s running as well

curious how the sutphen compares to your current boat?

that particular sutphen was awful. we rolled it over and never repaired it. the new boat is night and day difference. most supthens are awesome, that one was not and as we later found out, every single person who raced it said the same thing.
