Rear cooler fittting question
Need help from the 'Brain Trust' regarding this fitting on the rear cooler on my 540 motor...it's a small 1/4" nipping tat had a rubber hose connected to it. Any ideas would be appreciated Thx🇺🇸

I have no direct answer, but, at first glance, it appears to be an NPT port in the cooler. I know all the ports in both new coolers I am installing for my 496 rebuild are NPT. If it is NPT, then I'd say any NPT fitting of the right size that suits your needs should work. Thanks. Brad. |
Looks like a water drain to me.

my guess is it is the cooler drain and it was being used to feed a water pressure gauge

I assumed it was a fitting to feed a water pressure gauge to the dash...just didn't want guess without some feedback. Thanks again for the quick response 🏁🇺🇸
