And thats why the outboards continue to be so popular. Hats off to Kenny for having the patience and money that it takes to keep smiling and chase it to the finish line.

To run a skater of that size with Gigantor Power is a feat of it own. Gotta give Respect. Agreed bout the outboard phenomenon but if you want to run big numbers those Rinky Dink Lower units on the 4 strokes just ain’t gonna do it.

We will see outboard cats running in the high 40s and maybe low 50s in the next 3 to 6 months. If I could afford a big one with 1550s you can bet your ass I would have it. On the flip side, we logged 250 hours in the last 12 months with very little issues. My outboard boat was never down for more then 2 days for any repair, my inboard cat has been down for 7 months and counting.

You can afford anything you want Joe; you're just stuck on outboards for some reason. A 368 or 388 w/ a pair of very reliable Merc 1100s (2 year warranty and 200-300 hour rebuild intervals) will run circles around any of these "so called" next-gen 140-150mph outboard rigs, and it wouldn't cost any more than one of these new outboard boats that are supposedly going to go 150+ mph (which they might, with 3 or 4 of them on the back with tweaked computers that void the warranty). The outboard classes were 25-30 seconds a lap slower than the SuperCat class on both days at KW (look it up on RWO's website), which means they would've been put a lap down after just 6 laps. There's a reason why they don't run the outboard cat classes with the inboard cat classes - it's way too dangerous with the speed differences. Hell, even the Super Vs caught and passed all the 450R Factory Stock boats coming from a delayed second start! :picard1: When are you going to give up on constantly trying to compare the outboard boats to the inboard boats? This thread is about a badass 180+ mph shootout boat (that's faster than any outboard boat WILL EVER BE) and you turn it into a way to say that inboard boats as not reliable and too expensive. You also forget to mention the reason your outboard boat was never down more than 2 days is because you've got spares of everything - I know you must, to keep them going because I see the reality of the outboards breaking as often or more than the inboards at the events I attend. I hope you come run with us at the LOTO events this season so you can show our group of modest power (800-1350) inboard Skaters the way around the lake with your new outboard rig. I'll be sure to have a GoPro 360 mounted on my turd 36 to video your roostertail out front - if we can keep you in sight long enough. ;)

I believe it for sure and definitely changed the sport. Rob Hamiltons Talon last I heard was running in the 140s with quad 400Rs. If he looses a motor or drive chances are it’s controllable. A twin loosing a motor, lower or prop whether outboard or I/o at those speeds, from my experience, is a diaper soiler. I prefer SS IV or SS VIs or ASD 8s. Venerable Proven stuff imo

What is causing such a delay on your other Cat? Parts?
