Just purchased a 1984 22ft Scarab 1 with a 1986 250 Yamaha outboard, boat was professionally built by a Scarab dealer on the east coast and registered with Wellcraft. My question is was there ever an outboard offered in this model all info would be greatly appreciated I am looking forward to many years of enjoyment.

I don’t think there was a 250 Yamaha in 1986.

The 220 Special or the 225 Excel was the king of the hill as far as I can remember.

Is it a 3.1 liter engine?

Hey, I have an 85 scarab 1

Came with an alpha and small block, I swapped to a bravo and big block

They were also a factory option to have an outboard though I never knew which engine came with. I believe it was a mercury 200, so the 250 would not be factory
