You live close to Midway, I don`t even know where you would take this .. Lake michigan wouldn`t be much fun, need a small lake.
I think you should do the HVAC instead.. perfect time now while were slow and before they run out pf R410 equipment
LOL im gonna beat this HVAC system for all its worth! It owes me nothing at this point since i believe it was installed around '04(ish) i wanna say...but its still humming along with no problems.
As for where to go...i live close to Ohare..so i hop on the Kennedy and its about a 40min ride to Diversey harbor.....or hit 294 and again its about 40-45min to get the to chain or to Zion boat launch. Its not that bad. But you sound like my wife her biggest thing is squeezing the boat into the neighborhood when i take it home to play with

Im not sure how the boat would like that setup.....from what i remember from the past...it rode kinda flat as it sits now....Keep in mind its a 76' thats was hand layed and its heavy...but that maybe partly due to the props on the boat but i feel like it would end up plowing more with less weight on the rear than it has now...don't know....but it would be easier to work on that's for sure
The other thing is my boating is mainly on Lake Mi so i never felt comfortable being out in a single engine boat. If something blows up i'm floating along waiting for someone to come along or calling the TowBoaUS Pirates....with twins i can possibly still get home albeit very slowly

PLEASE do not take ALL the coolness away from a classic offshore cig by converting it to OB...
Saw one of these for sale in Norway with twin Yamaha V8 outboards.

It’s not only high performance boats but many cruisers and sailboats that I’ve seen the engine access and have gone Oh Hell No.
Being able to get around front and back of engine is really nice. I pulled a trans and replaced flywheel in the boat . Yes I`m spoiled now .

Most boats are Just Stupid for access . My trawler has tiny 4 cylinder Yanmars that are easily accessible but the backside of the generator is almost a nightmare and the house and engine batteries as well as the water maker are far from convenient. Mean while there is a 4x7 foot area in the middle that has nothing occupying it.

Back in the day all we had on the big lake were "small" boats. And somehow we managed to have fun that is probably not legal today. Weekends at the Indiana Dunes, trips to Michigan City, St Joe, Sagatuck or just a raft up in the play pen. I remember when the first "big" boat showed up, a 35 Cigarette. Then some 38 Scarabs.

I pulled a gas tank out that had 30yr old gas in it. It had lost volume...and was a caramel color...but smelled like new gas. Unreal.

Still had a lot of flamable energy. It would run an engine...but not worth the PITA ebem for the lawnmower.

There is the ASD8 Arneson in the Swap Shop....

A single engine conversion is not out to lunch.

A good 600hp single would be great. Far less weight. Easy work. Half the costs.
