Skater Adding 418 Catamaran Model
Two raceboats and one pleasure version have been ordered so far, https://www.speedonthewater.com/skat...tamaran-model/

It's about time you let the cat out of the bag Matt! ;) It's cool to see the first evolution model of the venerable 388 over 20 years after its introduction - think of it as a 388 on steroids. Tyler, Lindsey and the entire M-Con team have been a great asset for Pete and crew through the years of several different race and pleasure boats going through rigorous testing, both on the racecourse and off.

Well, as you know better than most, the timing isn't always mine to decide. |

The reason I say that the new 418 can be thought of as a 388 on steroids is because as the article states, it is a lengthened 388 with a wider tunnel - meaning that it has the same running surface/sponsons as a 388. As is well known, the 388 is a lengthened 368, which is a 36 with an 8" wider tunnel. So, the "family tree" so to say for all four models is 36, 368, 388 and now 418. All four of these models share the same sponsons/running surface, just in different lengths/tunnel widths. The 36 has a 58" wide tunnel, the 368/388 have a 66" wide tunnel and the new 418 will have a 72" wide tunnel (maximum tunnel width allowed in Pro Class 1). The LOA of the new 418 will also fall within the Pro Class 1 rules.

So what you are saying is the 418 is on testosterone and the 438 is on trenbolone..lol
|
So what is difference between the 418 and 438?

Skater's website does a pretty good job of describing their different models. I was just trying to give you guys a little more insight to the new 418 that is not listed on their website yet. Skater Powerboats
