I'll tell you the reason it's not a big story, it's because this sport has moved from the everyday boater and boat to the rarified air of bling boats that a tiny fraction of boaters can ever aspire to. Just look at this site 20 years ago and look at it today, 1/4 the traffic, stories like this used to be the norm. I was more interested in how a small shop like Tyler Crockett was going to run his "regular" boat than a million+ dollar exotic machine. I'll have to wait until next year for that. Most of the news today is about delivery of yet another bling boat to the proud new owners...ZZZZzzzzz. It's gotten so expensive that many are squeezed out. If I hear a big block boat on the water anymore it's a festive occasion. I'll take these stories any day. Sorry for the rant but this sport hasn't changed for the better IMO.
We need a reset, where regular guys with a reasonable budget can setup their own race boats and be competitive. Realistic rules that promote innovation.
Is there enough interest to support that?

I saw a bunch of cool set ups and some very nice boats running on the live feed, but I did notice all the older less expensive boats didn't get the coverage or they would talk while they were running. It seemed a little biased if it wasn't a brand new boat or an expensive cat, But at least on here and on some of the facebook groups, the lil guys are getting some attention.

Stangkilr is doing good stuff. If he was more polished it wouldnt be as cool. His boat videos are getting more views than this site. Having some of the other "car" personalities at the shootout is only good for the garage mechanic boat world.

Like it or not, force of personality is what actually makes a YouTube channel or any other social media presence a success (that or boobs). Very few people in life walk around with a personality that you would want to watch a half hour show about, week after week, year after year. Would it be better if he was just himself, who might be a quiet reserved guy, and his channel had a thousand viewers? Certainly not from his perspective. He seems to be new to the vlog style content, is covering boats and doing ride along content that no one else is doing. So I will take the rough edges and enjoy the content he has been pumping out. And take the goofiness any day over the gratitude meditation that How2Live videos seem to be.
