Headliner torn out fixing leaking deck vent - a Cigarette craftsmanship issue (too thin of fiberglass).
|
Guys,
Let's see... Where to start.... Fought a coolant leak all summer long after the rebuild. Finally found what a drip hanging from the bottom of the circ circ pump, couldn't get to it in the boat, so I decided to pull the engine. Tore into it. Discovered, during the rebuild, the builder reused the connecter between the crossover and the circ pump, which is hard and deformed. I'd already ordered a new circ pump, so I ordered a new connecter to go with it. Fingers crossed. Decided, while the engine was out, to address the cam I should have swapped during the rebuild. The HO cam just seems to be hitting a wall at 5K, no matter what we do (short of less prop). Tried sourcing a custom cam that would mimic the Raylar 211 under the 1.8 ratio rockers we opted for instead of a cam, found that to be more elusive than I thought it would be, so I ordered it from Raylar and a set of 1.7 Scorpions. The 1.8s will be in the swap shop before long. Finally getting around to the full hydraulic steering conversion everyone was giving me sh!t over during the rebuild. Thanks. Brad. |

That Sutphen has some great lines…..

So glad that boat went to a good home. when i looked at it for a friend when it was in MD, for as long as it sat, it was as solid as a new build.
|
Keep them coming! Me: tearing out mechanical fuel pumps mounted to sea water pumps. Done with leaking oil in the bilge from crappy fuel pumps leaking fuel into the drive oil in the sw pumps. Replacing a drive tilt extension hose from the pump to the transom assembly, sub box under the rear seat, finally succumbed to the humidity and rainstorms. W&W box will fix that issue and a couple of dock rash places on the bow.
|
I'm going to go outside the box since the boat is good to go for next year, but sniffing around for another😁 but I did just finish putting hardwood in all the bedrooms per my wife's request, so no more carpet! But it's making it easy to shop boats now😂

I am working on (3) bathroom remodels and those suckers take as much time as a twin repower and I'm not even doing the work just designing and buying. Costs just as much too.

Man, I agree here. We just finished up our spare Small- 6x10- bath couple months ago. Started as tile work and ended up going down to studs and floor joists and starting over. And it rarely gets used lol. |
Fixing the fiberglass on this, rebuilding it and painting. Goal is to be ready for the Buggy meet in Daytona this next April.

Sweet driveway!
:D |
For me, the cabin in the Bullet. I bought a sewing machine a few years ago to make my cockpit cover. Using some OSB I had laying around, I threw together a sewing table over top of my pool table in the basement. (Kegerator and TV is there, so I'm set)
There's quite a learning curve, but I'm getting the hang of it. Duplicating what is already there make it much easier though. Redid the headliner in this old girl. Went from the stock light gray to black flat-knit fabric. Works much better with the dark graphite interior.

Not cheap but hopefully worth it. The originals were looking pretty sad after almost 25 years. |
