I think both cams you listed are very close to the 525 cam and you can't go wrong with either.

I am going to order the Stage 1 cam from Teague for my 454 just waiting to see if they will have any kind of sale, probably not.

I am using 150/500 springs they should be fine on a billet cam. Also going to use their Johnson lifters.

Double check your pushrods and rocker geometry with the new cam, its not safe to assume the original pushrods with different lifters will have the correct geometry

In addition, I already have Comp 929 (iirc) valve springs. Upon teardown of heads machine shop said I had an inner broken. Boat has 380hrs on it. Would going back to the Comps scare you? Trying to debate going with those since I already have or going with Isky Tool Shops. Also are the stock pushrods in these chormoly already? All look great and debating if I need to replace those as well. I tend to overthink **** and just trying to get real world experience so its not a 200hr maintenance issue anymore.

Thanks!
380 hours is alot on a set of springs.

Please read my response above. It has correct info when talking hyd/hyd roller cams .
Well actually you know that any number number besides.050 is irrelevant because .020 or any number besides .050 is measured too far down to matter at any reasons besides ramp profiles. Solid Lifters have a horrible abusive ramp profile except in a solid roller. He doesn't have to machine his block with bar link lifters in this application in my opiinion and it's all opiinion or fact.

Teauge and most manufacters don't grind their own cams most likely. Comp and many others don't unless it's a custom grind. There is several cam builders that grind the cams at their specs and their cores. It's just more inexpensive. Comp just ground me a Procharged cam in house. As far as billets there are about 6 alloys of billet. The only cam grinder in the country that you select your core is Cam Motion in Baton Rouge. They are the highest producing HP cam grinders in the Nation. Smaller shop but the only I know in the Nation that grind every cam. No disrespect but boaters haven't discovered them. They've done it for many years and have forgotten more than anybody on this site knows. Check their site at cammotion.com. my big builds always comes from them, not off the shelf.
