I have been fallowing these guys progres and they have updated the web site with a bunch of new pictures. I have to tell ya the CNC machine that they are using is MASSIVE!!!!!

Nort I can not remember the current rule but it is something like that. I was talking to D-man and I can not remember the exact numbers that they were hoping for top speed, but it is certainly impressive if they do get to what they are gunning for.

I just like the TOTALLY interesting design and construction method (ie the CNC machine)

KP's boat (Jeffrey) was an F2 boat, and that is why there is only 4 of his type of boat (with that material.......I think it's compressed poodle hair and fiberglass).

Cool pics. But somebody narrate for me on the CNC part. Are they carving it out of a block of styrofoam, then glassing it? How's that work?

They first make a plug out of foam and then build the mold around that plug. The mold is then used to build boats.
