movable wing for cats

why don,t we have this on all the light weight outboard cats? watch the front canard wing push the bow down https://www.facebook.com/reel/824806950291774

There are a few versions of this being played with. A friend of mine is looking to build a "jet thrust propelled cat" and he has one designed to take air pressure out of the tunnel and will be activated by a gyro. I am all for avoiding accidents/injuries and death.

I think the biggest issue is that hydro's run on flat water where offshore cats run in the rough. if the nose kites and the wing wants to bring it down will it stuff it into the next wave? not saying it cant work just that when you work from stable platforms (calm water, altitude where the ground is 1000 ft away) vs a platform of the opposing surface going up and down, things get more complicated.

Search for 'unlimited hydroplane flip'

Looks like this has also been discussed multiple times on this forum in the past....like 20 years ago. It has been tried on offshore race boats in the past. Just one example with pics: Shootout Winner Prediction - Page 6 - Offshoreonly.com

I think this link has some good thoughts on the topic under 'safety systems' heading. Hydros 101 – H1 Unlimited

Summary is can it be done, yes, but current tech and resources make it highly unlikely.

Im not sure if it was "active" like the hydro ones. It dosent look like it. But phenomenon had a similar

canard. Maybe someone with more info can chime in.

For those who know John Hice, he is hot on this project and it will work for offshore cats. This guy is smart, tenacious, and passionate.
