The popular ones here do not seem to have pedals and look like dirt bikes. I have to say they do look fun but man the majority of kids seem to have no idea of any right a way, stop signs nothing.

I hate that the kids can't have fun with them, (wish they were around when I was 12), but they are a 100% liability to licensed and insured drivers and shouldn't be running around on the roads. My neighbors boy is 7 years old and I saw him 10 miles from the house with some older kids last weekend (mom wasn't impressed when I called to report his location). Its like turning 16 early and having no liability. His goes 35 mph and looks like a little motocross bike. Its a KTM SX E5 and is really cool-you can see them on youtube.

it's the disregard for traffic laws that gets me. same goes the a peddle bike they all just run stop signs and traffic lights. i do triathlons and have logged thousands of miles on a bike. if you value your life you follow the rules of the road just have to watch for the A hole drivers lol.

Even the spots that have rentals that are fairly slow are disaster zones. Orlando by the convention center is bonkers. Atlanta has some spots similar. Unfortunately there are just too many people in general now. When we were kids we could get away with ripping on back roads or even boating off the beaten path but now everywhere is a crowded mess and adding machines to the mix doesnt work

I’ve had some damn close calls running into the illegals whipping down our sidewalks at 25mph plus down here in Naples Florida.
I live in a condo development that I have to enter 3 lanes of 45 mph traffic that is doing 60 plus so we’re looking heavily to our left especially at night. No One expects anything to be flying up the sidewalk from the opposite direction of traffic . Than at night even if they are flying down the sidewalk from the same direction as traffic you can’t discern that single light out of the 3 lanes of auto lights coming at you. At the very least they need speed limits and must travel the direction of traffic |

NJ just announced its new laws on E-bikes. The basics are you need to be 17, have a license, registration and insurance. There are some exceptions for kids as young as 15 with slower vehicles. Whats your thoughts?
