well since Apache and Commanche's were completely different American Indian Tribes, following the scheme of the Apache boat might not be what you want.
Commanche and Apache indians were enemy's and constantly raided each other and the spanish as well back in the 1790's to early 1800's.
All throughout texas and north mexico and Oklahoma area's into Arizona.
The commanche's were more forceful and basically destroyed the Apache indians every chance they could and never lost to an apache (Probably why McManus went with the name DING DING DING)
so you might want to sort of ponder the thoughts of digging up information on the COMMANCHE indians of the late 1700's and early 1800's to focus on a name, cause all that War Party stuff and Kemosabe and the like are all pinpointing Apache indians which were the weaker of the native american indian tribes.
Just a thought Sling
