Gotta here the scoop on this ---?????????????

Ken I know your out there reading all of this, lets here it what is going on.
|
Can't say this comes as a shock. This is the fourth change in 6 years. Don't remember the first guy I dealt with, I'd have to check my notes. Then it was Frank Palmer, great guy. Then Ken Temple, is he still involved with the co. Then Scott who started out as driver delivering boats for Steve. Next thing I knew he was running around with the title of General Manager, I thought that was Max's job or I guess Max was the production manager. Then Scott moved to sales. Things tend to change fairly often in that place. I hope everything works out for Scottie.

Hey Mark. You guessed it. I'm here reading these posts about Scott. The news is true. He did hand in his resignation today. Both Steve and Scott shook hands and wished eachother the best for the future. I'll be at the factory preparing for the Miami Boat Show in February. Quite a few techie inovations instore. I've got several Velocity boatowners going up the St John's River tomorrow as a charity run for "Toys for Tots". Wish you could join us. Give me a call at Velocity. Hope to speak with you soon. Kenny.

That guy had a bad attitude anyways.

|
hurray, i mean oh no,no I mean hurray,no maybe oh no........now we'll see how fast he is in F-1 when he has to pay like we do,he's always alittle cocky most of the time.........I will tell you though,he is a fast little bastard in the right water!!!!!!!
|
The bad part is once he left he will never get his money
|
well thats one side of the story i would like to hear the other. I have found steve to be a man of his word so there is two sides to this i am sure
|
family business
Working in any family business is always tough - working in a family high performance boat building business has got to be even tougher. Al I'm sure you didn't mean anything by calling Scotty a bastard - I would retract that one! BH
|
of course not brian, just that he's fast!!!!!!!!!!
|
Ken I wish that I was there for the fun run on the st johns, but maybe next time. Make sure that everyone obeys that 25mph. speed limit on the river I dont think that (Sorry were from North Carolina and we did not know what that sign meant) will work for you when those guys on the wave runners stop you.
I will be passing through there next friday and I thought I might stop in to see everyone if you are going to be there. :eureka: |
Mark -- Speed limit on the St John's River must have been 70mph plus yesterday. We had about 10 boats leave from Sanford running hard all the way up to DeLand. Picked up several more boats, a few cats, a few pickle forks, and from there it was nothing more than a drag race up to Astor. My 41 Velocity passed just about everyone. The guys in the fishing boats are not our friends as of yesterday. Everyone had a great time. Steve Stepp ran the F-1. His wife Kim rode with me. I got the driving seal of approval from her. I'll be in the factory all week. Looking forward to seeing you. Kenny

Sounds like it was a lot of fun, I hate that we missed it. How did the F-1 run, and who is going to drive it next year if scott is gone
?:fish: |
The F-1 ran like a champ. It was the race boat that was parked behind the motorhome but you wouldn't have recognized it. It has a brand new W I L D !!! paint job. Gorgeous. Bob Spotolski is still driving. Don't know who's going to throttle.
|
Hay ken last time I looked back you were behind me!!
|
This is Scottie himself. I thought I would clear up a few things and end this post on a good note. Although posts like this are entertaining, they are not very positive. Steve Stepp is a very good person at heart and a hell of a friend. I have learned a mass of knowledge from the master of performance himself and feel very blessed to have had the oppertunity to work at the factory. I will miss them all!
I would also like to thank all of the people in the industry for the many phone calls and offers they have presented me with. Word sure does get around fast. I have been working on something BIG for almost a year and will shock the offshore industry soon. Please stay tunned..... scott |
yo Scott
Scott:
Keep us posted on your deal. Let me know if I can help up here in Ga. Brian Hollis TalMarine.com |
Perhaps a turbine powered SleekCraft??:D :eureka:

i am a go fast man so that has to mean that i love velocity boats for their performance and if and when i get my own boat it will be a velocity however I also run a small marina and used to sell them I had the 32' with red hull sides that was used in advertisements for a while. this boat was purchased through them in used condidtion at little discount ( my rookie mistake) and upon trying to sell the product and not having a whole lot of luck and spending gobs of money on boat shows, I finally sold the 26 footer I had but could not get rid of the 32 I tried talking with the factory to see if I could get them to get the word out to dealers and maybe put it in their ads to help me move this boat after a few talks with the powers that were at that time, including steve I was told pretty much tough luck that I bought the boat as a dealer and that was where they stood as a manufacturer to sell boats to dealers that was it. I am done whining and will end with I still think they are the fastest boats (32' twin 350hp 454 mags 80 MPH radar) but it cost me a whole lot of money and ended with a 25k loss just in the price of the boat. now tell me who woulnd't have paid 65 to 70 k for a clean demo 80 mph 32' boat?

Good Luck Scott, hope to see you in Daytona.
