Looking to update our Fountain, and this is something I would like.
Your honest opinions please. ;)

i've always been a proponent of simple graphics.

Pick colors and patterns taht will age well. When i bopught my baot it shad "pure energy" down the side in a very 80s font and color with a whack solid "drop shadow". When i bought the baot i used it to knock and extra $500 off the price. That isn't that much but my boat was only 18k total.

Purple and Orange go killer together and aren't over done.....YET!;)

chromecat 12-18-2002 11:04 PM

i personally like the extremes... either all white. or make it look like walt disney puked all over it....

just my opinion

My thought is if you take the "1" off it leaves alot of white on the bow. Maybe a stripe going back or something like that.

Mang 12-19-2002 05:51 AM

WHat no paint shop

why dont you ask Mr. Blunts to paint it?

HOTROD2 12-19-2002 06:54 AM

call MITCHER "T" and get your own custom design, not a copy! His number is 269-795-2228.

Wildchild212 12-19-2002 08:13 AM

I think you need something that flows better with the length of boat. The graphics you have there really make it look short.

I like it. I've never cared for most of the factory graphics packages that the production builders use. I think custom paint, done well, enhances the value and uniqueness of a boat.

klaw 12-19-2002 08:26 AM

I like the color combo but as mentioned I think if you shortened it the boat would still look like a 42.
Do you still have the gill exhaust for sale

Sydwayz 12-19-2002 08:27 AM

I like it. Make sure you do the purple on the transom and swim platform to hide the exhaust soot.

RUSSSR1 12-19-2002 08:50 AM

BFM
What are you going to do with the deck? Give us a look. what about the cockpit? To much purple inside would take away. Besides dark colors on the hatch get to hot in the sun.
No number 1.

I could tell you how to make a boat look the best it can, we do it every day, I see graphics with hours of airbrushing and all kinds of creatures which do nothing for the boat except cost a small fortune. In fact the boat would look 10 times better if it had simple stripes on it................................

DoTheMath 12-19-2002 09:00 AM

Ummm, not a big fan of the purple and orange, a bit "80's" if-you-will. I'm a big fan of Yellows& blues; red & orange etc... complimenatry colors. And I agree that it shortens the boat a bit... Maybe pull back some of the color under the front bolsters / cockpit and drag a bit of thin color out toward the bow. This will give the natural lines (& length) of the boat some flow.

Just my .02:D

MnHowardCat 12-19-2002 09:05 AM

Simple costom graphics I think make hot boats stand out in a croud. But I think you would want to match the cockpit colors as well carpet-bezels you know
go for it.;) ;) ;)

ChrisK 12-19-2002 09:16 AM

What you have makes the boat look a little "short" need to extend the graphics in some way down the side... even if it is a small stripe or something...

And ditch the "1" like you did...

X-Rated30 12-19-2002 10:21 AM

Looks great except for that long thing attached to the bow.

BURNSMAZZ 12-19-2002 10:48 AM

I like things a little more simple,I don't thing it looks bad though, hell it's your boat if you like it run it and call it good.

Smitty 12-19-2002 11:36 AM

My only suggestion is that whatever you do make sure that you use Primary colors such as red, yellow, blue etc.

Primary colors don't date anything. My boat is now eight years old and still looks new because I chose red, yellow, blue ribbon stripes down the sides. It always has turned heads.

Just my .02:D :D :D

HP-J 12-19-2002 11:52 AM

Don't take this the wrong way, but the design & colors are a little dated, in my opinion. Kind of 80's style, as some have mentioned already. I don't think it does your boat enough justice.

Depending on your budget, shops like Mitcher T and GeoGraphics can do some amazing paint schemes. They will come up with different designs, based on your preferences & budget. You can make it as simple or elaborate as you like. And in the end you'll have an original design that will be unique to your taste. Good luck.

By the way, nice boat!

Back4More 12-19-2002 12:40 PM

Got Clint from GeoG working on a design but I kinda did up a pic of a boat i saw last night....just looking for honest feed back.
