It looks like a 28 Manta. If it is and it runs like the old FEVER boat, HOLY CHIT WATCH OUT! When i was driving the PENNZOIL Boat that FEVER boat ran right with us and even passed us in the rough and we won PRO-STOCK!

BODYSHOT1 12-20-2002 07:58 AM

Mike..if I may...

..it's a 28' Magnum w/twim nasty (though pink at the moment) ..small blocks...

Smitty Marine,

Nice work guys!

Mike,

Great boat, and you picked a great group to do all the work! The P4 class has exploded over the last few years, and made our boats proud with the last 2 World and National Championship titles.

Looks like we have some serious tweeking to do to your boat Doc to keep you on top of the playing field. And Congrats on your Championships this year.

Also Mike, if you are interested in racing the Cincinnati Offshore Grand Prix on June 14-15, let me know, I will make sure you get travel money for coming all the way down here.

Mike,

Is that boat running TRS drives? I remember that boat from here at the jersey shore. It was pretty competetive back when.

No trs,

fatdaddy 12-22-2002 08:50 PM

snglepuss what do you run ? or do you just run your mouth???

JWilmoth 12-24-2002 10:14 AM

Mike, Best of luck with Runaway. I happen to have a picture of it running side by side with our old race boat, A-4 Empty Pockets, at the world champioships in Key West in '92. We had just went past
Runaway and moved into 1st place when one of our Bravo drives snapped off. We then spun 180 degrees, hit the next sea and went end over end backwards (twice) and then barrel-rolled to a stop. It was typical Key West water that day, 4-5 foot swells, and I remember thinking we really needed to rethink this scenario of running 85 mph in 28' boats. But it was always great fun mixing it up with Runaway in rough water.

Hauling Trash 12-24-2002 05:48 PM

I love to see that picture

Ryan Beckley 12-24-2002 09:11 PM

wasn't that the same year that runaway won but was disqualifed for something illegal?
