It's really none of my business, but how is spending $60k on a boat going to help for tax purposes in any way?

Just curious, if this person made it as income, and he puts it in the bank, what does it matter? If it's illegal money, and he made deposits of $10k or more, don't they get notified about that anyway? I'm no accountant, and like I said, none of my business on his situation, but maybe someone can fill me in on a circumstance where this would arise. I can't think of anything where buying a boat would avoid paying taxes??????? But then, it's early and my coffee is not digested yet....

I don't care what his reasoning is. If he wants to buy a boat, thats reason enough for me. How about this. Thats the reason he gave his wife. Don't wreck it for him.
