throttle canting???? what does that mean?
 

I'm getting ready to order my Gaffrig throttles and need to know what canting means. It looks as if I have the option of forward, rear, left and right.

I am sure it is a very simple answer, just a little new at this type of stuff.

Also, I guess I get to pick how the thottles and drives are laid out, (2 drives on the left, 2 throttles on the right, visa versa, or 2 throttles in the middle with drives on the far right and left) what type of layout do you guys have, are their pros and cons with certain types of lay outs???

Finally, I assume I need two (2) neutral safety switches for a four handle throttle? And one (1) diode kit????

canting, i think it is a fancy word for an angle.
the throttle setup like as the cockpit layout? go with throttles in center so you can go with just you on it.

Hyper... I think they mean throttles, left, right or centered, all in the same 6" square mounting. Mine are shifters together on right, and throttles together on left. I like that, but have never owned a boat with throttles (centered) separating the shifters.

Its a personal thing, but I like the shifters on the outside so its easier to back around using two hands (no wheel). I think the cant will depend on the location of the panel on your dash; if its horizontal, angled or verticle. You will have to consider if you're pulling the throttle up (some Fountains) or pushing forward (almost everyone else). Its always nice to grip the two throttles in one hand and twist to match up tach's...

i believe canting refers to the angle or elbow in the sticks.. most get them angled forward ie cig... but some back like fountains i think

Don't know what the diode does, but you should have automatic neutral safety switches with Bravo's. I always have an override switch installed in case I kill a motor (or accidentally shut off) in gear. Some Bravo's don't like to get back to neutral with a dead motor. I've never experienced any problem starting in gear (when safe)...

Yep, 2 neutral saftey switches.

And assuming you meaning diodes for in throttle trim switches.
2 diodes: 1 for up/out,
1 for down/in
