Goin' skiing at Whistler!!!
Me and some buddies are going skiing at Whistler in Vancouver Jan 9th thru 14th and I was wondering if anybody here had been there and if so did you venture into the town.
What kind of night life is there etc. I hear it is about a two hour drive from the mountain so I am not sure if it's worth it.
Thanks

Whistler is awesome!! It has a HUGE base village with tons of nightlife......bars and restaurants galore. It's like a mini-city. You never have to use a car once you arrive at Whistler. All of the lodging is within walking distance of the lifts.
Don't panic if the base weather is a bit rainy/wet. That's common. Once you take the first set of lifts to mid-mountain, it's all snow. The terrain is immense, sometimes it gets a bit overwhelming with all of the new mountain areas to discover. Take your time and soak it all in.

Bigwavz,
You and your buddies will love Whistler. If the weather co-operates, it is the best! Check out Vancouver on your way there or on your return. You will definately not want to drive down from Whistler for any reason other than to go home. If you're staying at one of the hotels in the village, you will be surrounded by nightlife. Everybody get their own key.

You will absolutely love Whistler! Both the Blackcomb and Whistler ski area's are fantastic. As I understand it there was no snow in the village up till about 2 weeks ago. Within the last 2 weeks a lot of snow has fallen, so I hope you love powder!
After skiing there are a few clubs to go to, the Savage Beagle, and something else, don't remember the name.
A full day of skiing is going to knock you on your ass, but if you can get out afterwards there is just a ton of stuff to do.
Both Whistler and Blackcomb village have just a ton of shops. The prices for clothing is pretty cheap as well. If it is just you and your buddies, there is a strip club in town somewhere. (The town is pretty small).
Oh yeah, the "female escorts" in there yellow pages offer "special services for 50.00 american"! Well worth it!
